Imran’s journey took him near a river where children
were filling pots of water. He saw dams, reservoirs
and canals carrying water to faraway places. A
farmer explained that water cycle keeps water
moving in nature. Imran dropped a wooden block
and a stone into the river. The block floated, but the
stone sank. He learnt it was because of density and
weight. Imran realised how precious water is and
how people everywhere depend on it. Without
water, no crops could grow, and no animals or
people could survive.

“Water flows and water falls,
Through the cycle, nature calls.

Some things float and some things sink,
Water is precious, stop and think.”

Imran noticed piles of garbage on the roadside. Some waste
rotted quickly like fruit peels which were biodegradable.
Plastic bottles and glass didn’t rot because these
were non-biodegradable. He also learnt about
hazardous waste like chemicals and sanitary
waste that needed care. A teacher taught him the
5 R’s – refuse things we don’t need, reduce waste,
reuse items, repurpose them into new objects and
recycle old things like paper. Imran visited a paper
recycling unit and saw how waste paper became
new sheets, saving trees. He promised to manage
waste wisely at home and school.
“Refuse, reduce, reuse again,
Repurpose, recycle – less the pain.

Paper saved means more green trees,
Clean the Earth, live in peace.”

Moral of the Story

Imran’s journey taught him that Earth is our home and we must care for it. The land, sky, water and waste
around us are all connected. Nature provides us with food, shelter and resources, but we must use them
wisely. By saving water, respecting traditions, managing waste through the 5 R’s, and showing curiosity
about our sky and environment, we can live in harmony with nature. Therefore, every child and adult
has a role in protecting Earth. Small steps like recycling, conserving water and keeping surroundings
clean can build a greener, healthier future for all.
