Case Study: Migratory Birds at Bharatpur Sanctuary
Every year, thousands of birds travel long distances to India in search of food and a warmer
climate. One famous place where they come is the Keoladeo National Park in Bharatpur,
Rajasthan. Birds like the Siberian crane, painted stork and pelican travel from cold countries and
stay here during winter. These migratory birds rest in the wetlands, find food like fish and insects
and then return to their own countries when the weather becomes warm again. Their arrival
makes the park very colourful and lively. This also helps scientists learn about bird movement
and the importance of protecting wetlands. Migratory birds show us how nature is connected
across countries.
