Feet and Claws
Birds have claws on their feet. Claws help the birds to catch and hold their food, perch
on branches and to move around. They have feet according to the environment they
live in and the food they eat.
Cranes, storks and herons have legs that are long and thin with toes
that are spread out to help the birds to walk easily in shallow water
without sinking. They help them to wade through water.

Eagles, hawks and owls have feet with large, sharp and strong curved
claws called talons to catch, kill and carry prey. There are three toes in
the front and one behind. They are used for grasping things.

joined together with skin and one small toe at the back. Feet work as
oars for birds while swimming.
